Who we are
clckit is a dating app published by Michoozon Inc., 2440 Watercolours Way, Ottawa (Ontario) K2J 7A9, Canada. We are responsible for the personal information you share with us. Questions, or to exercise your rights: contact@michoozon.com. Our privacy officer can be reached at that address.
The waitlist (clckitapp.com)
Before the app opens, you can join the waitlist on clckitapp.com. This section is about the waitlist, and only the waitlist.
- What we keep: your email address; your first name and your province (or “United States”), only if you give them; the language of the page; your confirmation that you are 18 or older; the date and time of your consent, with the exact version of the text you agreed to.
- What we don't keep: neither your IP address nor a fingerprint of your browser. The site uses no cookies and no analytics or advertising tools, and its fonts are hosted by us.
- Why: to email you when clckit is available, in your language. Your first name is used to greet you, your province to know where to open first. Nothing is sold or shared with advertisers.
- Where: in a Cloudflare D1 database (Cloudflare, Inc. hosts the site). Cloudflare may process this data outside Canada, including in the United States.
- How long: until the launch email is sent or until you unsubscribe, whichever comes first. The list is then erased within 30 days. If you unsubscribe, we erase your first name and province and keep only your address and the date of your request, so we can be sure never to write to you again.
- Your rights: every email has a one-click unsubscribe link. To see, correct or fully erase your sign-up, write to contact@michoozon.com: it is done within 30 days, usually much sooner.
What we collect
- Your account: your email address (for the sign-in code).
- Your profile: first name, date of birth (only your age is shown), gender, what you're looking for, city, photos, answers, interests, lifestyle (including your current situation, if you share it), “Right now”, your codes.
- Your location: rounded to the kilometre by our servers; others only see an approximate distance, never a point.
- Your verification selfie: see below, it is deleted quickly.
- What you do in the app: Clockits, likes, passes, matches, text and voice messages (and when you last read a conversation), game rounds.
- Planned dates: a return time and, if you want, the name of a place (erased 7 days later). We never know or keep the contact of the person you tell about your date.
- Technical: your device's notification token, time zone, language.
Some answers are private by default (religion, politics, orientation): they help pick your profiles and are never displayed. Your feedback after a date is readable by no one.
Who sees that you liked someone. When you send a like or a Clockit, the person learns what you noticed (for example “your 2nd photo”). If they subscribe to clckit+, they also see your first name, age and main photo, so they can respond. On the free plan, they get neither your name nor your photo. Notifications never say who.
Why
- To suggest a daily drop of compatible profiles near you.
- To run matches, conversations and the game.
- To keep people safe: verification, photo moderation, reports, blocking.
- To send the notifications you chose.
- To manage your clckit+ subscription and, on the free plan, show ads.
Who we share with (our service providers)
- Supabase (database and file hosting).
- Resend (sending the email that contains your sign-in code).
- Google Cloud Vision (automatic photo analysis to refuse nudity, blood and violence).
- Google AdMob (ads on the free plan, from week 3; see “Ads”).
- RevenueCat, Apple and Google (subscriptions and payments; we never see your card number).
- Expo (notification delivery).
- Apple iTunes Search and TMDB (music, movie and show search when you fill in “Right now”).
We do not sell your personal information. Your profile, messages and matches are never shared with advertisers. Some providers process data outside Canada, including in the United States.
Ads
On the free plan, Google AdMob ads appear from day 15, never in a conversation, a match or an emotional moment. Google chooses the ads. You can refuse personalized ads (Google's consent form and, on iPhone, “Allow tracking”): you will then see non-personalized ads. AdMob may collect your device's advertising identifier, IP address and ad interactions. Adult ads are excluded. clckit+ removes all ads.
How long we keep it
- Verification selfie: deleted once a decision is made, and at the latest after 30 days.
- Date location: erased 7 days later.
- Photos refused by moderation: deleted immediately.
- Sent notifications: 7 days.
- Everything else: as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, everything is erased, files included.
Your rights
From the app (Settings) you can: • export your data, • take a break, • delete your account for good. You can also write to us to access or correct your information, withdraw consent or file a complaint. Under Quebec's Law 25, Canada's PIPEDA, California's CCPA/CPRA and state biometric privacy laws, these rights apply as local law provides. You may contact the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Age
clckit is for people 18 and over. We refuse sign-ups under 18 and delete any account of a minor reported to us.
Security
Your data is encrypted in transit, access is isolated by database-level security rules, and files (photos, voice notes) are only served through temporary signed links.
Changes
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we will tell you in the app before the change applies.
